Just A Bit.

A fun (but freezing!) Fallish day today. I put on my knee socks , my scarf, and my boots, and John and I took the girls to see The Nutcracker ballet. They loved it (...I was just a little distracted by the old woman sitting in front of us who could not stop eating her granola bar, with its ridiculously loud crinkly wrapper. Sheeesh!). The Rat King was my favorite.
Alas, no photography was allowed during the show.
Illustration by Maurice Sendak, from E.T.A. Hoffman's, The Nutcracker.

After the ballet, we went to our latest discovery in delicious Mexican food.
Taqueria!

The chips and guac, I cannot stop eating them!

Carne Asada tacos.

After bringing the girls home, and John to work, the rest of my day was spent roaming downtown. I hit the library, then went to my favorite little bookstore, Birdsong Books.

After about 45 minutes of browsing, I made my choice: Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, a novel about a young boy who gets stranded on a raft with a mean Bengal tiger. The boy's strategy? Making sure the tiger is more afraid of him than he is of it.

Rumor has it that Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon director, Ang Lee, has the film version set to release sometime in 2012

Being that I am trying my very best not to begin a new book before I'm through with my current read, I have to finish A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, before I can dive into what sounds like an amazing tale!

Before picking John up from work, I treated myself to the warmth of the nearest Satellite Coffee for some Joe and a delicious pumpkin spice cookie.

We finished off the day with a bowl of lightly salted homemade popcorn, and a little bit of Marilyn.

I can't believe most people don't watch the classics.

Happy Tuesday!
